Original Toronto Star caption: Breaking ice six inches thick; the tugboat Bagotville grinds through Toronto harbor as it tows the Goderich to a winter berth at Pier 35. Another tug helps out on other side of the big lake vessel. Sam Searl keeps an eye on lines and other equipment. The ice; more severe than for many years; has kept the island ferries in their berths and island residents must use the airport ferry across the western gap.
