Original Toronto Star caption: Lifesavrs' new 'room at the top' New blue aluminium-sided lookout shelter for Toronto Harbor Police and Life Saving station is hoisted into place atop the existing 85-foot tower at the foot of Rees St. today. Shelter replaces 45-year-old wooden on previously used.

Harbor police scuba divers plunge into the ice-covered water of the harbor; led by 2nd Officer Ernie Norrey (top). Following him are Brian Kennedy; David Bryan and Ulrich Ertle. In the water; only the tops of their heads show (bottom) as they practise holding their breath to conserve air and keep in shape in case a car plunges into the lake. They practise all year; even in 30-degree weather like today.
