Original Toronto Star caption: Home at the top of the hill in Wychwood Park; west of Bathurst St. and south of St. Clair Ave.; was built by Marmaduke Matthews; one of the first artists to paint the Rocky Mountains. He turned the park into a community for artists before he died in 1913.
