The photographs here show six residences and properties among those that will be affected by proposal, recommended by board of control yesterday, to extend Sherbourne St. through Rosedale as indicated in a map included in this issue of The Star. Rosary Hall was a hostel/boarding home for single working women and students operated by the Sisters of Providence of St. Paul. It was demolished in 1965. The Home for Incurable Children was established in 1899, and the property at 152 Bloor Street East was purchased in 1907. Later renamed Bloorview Children’s Hospital, it remained on Bloor Street until 1975 when it relocated to North York; the old hospital building was demolished in 1978.
