Original Toronto Star caption: The new Humewood House, an Anglican home for girls in trouble, at St. Clair and Bathurst, is named after the house built on the site by William Hume Blake, an Irish settler who became the first Chancellor of Upper Canada. Humewood House, located at 40 Humewood Drive, west side between Humewood Gardens and Wellwood Avenue.
