Original Toronto Star caption: A police drama plays itself out on the streets of metro. While police were trying to capture a man holed up in a 10th floor apartment at Queen St. W. and Strachan Ave. yesterday; who said he had a gun and was going to shoot people; another drama occurred on the street outside; closed to traffic. From left; Constable Fred Lumstead crouches beside his cruiser; pointing toward a man crossing the street and shouting at him to stay back. The man ignores him and Lumstead runs over and tries to pull him back to the sidewalk; where a crowd has gathered. Don't touch me; man; just don't touch me; the man shouted; then disappeared appeared into the crowd. Inside the building; police arrested a man at about 5 p.m.; 90 minutes after the incident began. They found a macheteknife and bow and arrow; but no gun; through neighbors heard shots. Friedrich Klarmann; 49; (left) was charged with being common nuisance.
