Original Toronto Star caption: Police tug-of-war team has new bite. Latest weapon in Metro police arsenal for annual battle with Detroit police force -- the eight-man tug-of-war matches -- are 20-pound boots with shark-like teeth. The Detroit team already uses them; but has lost to Metro for 14 consecutive years. Practising with new boots for the match on Saturday in Detroit-and return contest at 96th annual Metro Police Games at Exhibition Stadium Aug. 5 are Constables Loran Morrison (right); Laird Lesage; Paul Johnston and Dave Hicks.
