Original Toronto Star caption: Shoddy Kitchen is just one of the drawbacks of the slum homes on Walton St. in which 35 people-20 of them on welfare or old age pensions live in six tattered houses. The dwellers fight to stay clean in their difficult surroundings; but naked plumbing and peeling walls add to squalor.
