Original Toronto Star caption: The subway extension burrows north. Standing inside the first portion of the Yonge St. subway extension; resident engineer Douglas Dunn looks northward toward the working face of the tunnel; the first portion of the four-mile addition from Edlinton Ave. to Sheppard Ave. in North York. But Metro Council may decide to push the subway even further north to Finch Ave. at an extra cost of $26 million.
