The tunnelling has started on the first part of the fourmile extension from Eglinton Ave. to Sheppard Ave. in North York. But; Metro Council may decide to take the extension 1.4 miles further; to Finch Ave. The cost of extension to Sheppard will be $79 million. It would cost an extra $26 million to tunnel to Finch.
