Original Toronto Star caption: Huge Crater on Bathurst St.; caused by flooding when a 36-inch water main broke last night; is pumped clear of water by city workmen today. The crater; just north of College St.; is about 12 feet deep in some places; and 50 feet long. Several houses and shops were flooded as water 18 inches deep rolled down bathurst St. carrying mud; rocks and personal belongings from upstream homes.
