Original Toronto Star caption: Contadora Island is a beautiful; luch Pacific isle; but it's not in the South Seas or anywhere near them. It's just 15 minutes by air from the coast of Panama. Howeverm it has all the attributes one could ask; with the exception of a Polynesian population. Once used by pearl fishermen as a place to count their treasure - hence the name - it is now site of a resort complex being underwritten by the government.
