Original Toronto Star caption: A rich prize for the covetous Japanese would be the holdings of the Philippine Iron Mines Company at Larap; Mambulao; in the province of Luzon; where fighting has been heavy. The islands are immensely rich in minerals; according to American mining engineers. Nearly every well-known metal except tin has been discovered in large quantities; but these resources have scarcely been tapped. The United States has done an excellent job of developing island resources since control was gained 40 years ago.
