Original Toronto Star caption: Victoria and Wyn Briton find their tall Mountie friend most interesting. He has told them many tales of sprightly adventure in Canada's northland. The dolls have been frequent and enthusiastic visitors to the big room in which The Star Weekly $1;000 Knitting Contest entries are segregated. That everyone in every corner of Canada has been knitting furiously during the last three months is evidenced by the large number of packages; of every size and shape; that are flooding into the office; and which are now being sorted by a competent staff. Vicky and Wyn are impressed beyond words with the excellence and variety of the knitted outfits destined eventually for their little blitzed friends overseas. At this early date it cannot be told definitely when the winners in the Contest will be announced. Entrants can be sure; however; that the judging will be proceeded with as quickly as possible.
