Original Toronto Star caption: The Bomb that blew part of the leg off convicted bookmaker Walter Chomski of Mississauga left a hole in the floor of his 1973 blue Lincoln Continental. A tarpaulin held the car together when it was taken to the Centre for Forensic Science for a fine-tooth study. The bomb exploded under the car in Chomski's garage. His right leg was amputated at Mississauga General Hospital and he also suffered burns; multiple fractures and wounds from metal fragments of the car.
