Original Toronto Star caption: The long-awaited public debut in Canada of Soviet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov, in the Forum at Ontario Place last night, attracted 14,500 people who cheered and yelled their approval as he partnered Veronica Tennant in the Nation Ballet of Canada's production of La Sylphide. Baryshnikov appeared as guest artist with the company on the opening night of its two-and-a-half week season at Ontario Place.
