Original Toronto Star caption: A lesson from a maestro; Jazz trumpeter Guido Basso improvises for students in a clinic at the Canadian Stage Band Festival yesterday at Seneca College's Finch campus. Eighteen bands with 400 musicians competed. Westview Centennial from North York won the open class; Ledbury Junior High, also of North York, won the junior high school class. A band from Halifax, the only area outside Ontario represented, won in the class for secondary schools.
