With the 10th annual convention of The Heritage Canada Foundation coming up Sept. 22 to 24, at the Royal York Hotel, chairman Pierre Berton didn't want my luxurious beard to detract from the serious purpose of the two-day meeting so the whiskers had to go. And at the Razor's Edge yesterday, stylist Jimmy Kano gave it the chop, putting paid to a summer's growth.
