Original Toronto Star caption: At 3 p.m. yesterday when Albert Matthews, lieutenant-governor of Ontario, was sworn in, Dr. H. A. Bruce, former lieutenant-governor, reverted to a civilian role. Shown here are photographs of the former lieutenant-governor and Mrs. Bruce taken in Chorley Park a half-hour before the new lieutenant-governor assumed office. Chorley Park is to be closed. Top left shows Dr. and Mrs. Bruce in the morning room at Chorley Park, apparently happy in the knowledge that they are to have a well-earned rest after their years of strenuous work in an official capacity.
