Original Toronto Star caption: Even Simcoe's old blood is needed. Boasting that his blood is 200 years old, Governor John Graves Simcoe added yesterday. My blood's as good as ever. John Graves Simcoe was played by CbC radio personality Joe Cote and his wife, Elizabeth Simcoe, is really Kathleen Sandler. Simcoe, who founded the town of York in 1793, was at the Atrium on Bay to issue an appeal for blood donors.
