On a sports-filled visit to Toronto, crooner Bing Crosby cheers on George Royal as the Canadian-bred colt with 58-year-old Johnny Longden aboard won the $60,800 Canadian Championship Stakes at Woodbine Saturday. There was less to cheer about at Maple Leaf Gardens Saturday night as Bing and his host Charlie Conacher watched Toronto lose its league opener to Chicago Black Hawks 4-0.
