Original Toronto Star caption: The man who gave Sinclair Stevens' wife $2.6 million in mortgage loans says he was upset when he discovered after the deal that a condition placed on one of the properties meant his appraisal was $152,000 higher than it should have been. Businessman Anton Czapka testified yesterday at the inquiry probing conflict-of-interest allegations against the former industry minister that he had valued one of the six mortgage properties - all owned by the Stevens companies - at $650,000.
