Original Toronto Star caption: Second-year Leaf: It was all roses when Leaf owner Harold Ballard met with his No. 1 draft pick, Vincent Damphousse (at top, above). The talented forward had a strong rookie season, scoring 21 goals and assisting on another 25, but has had difficulty regaining that form in his sophomore year in the NHL. Is this only the latest manifestation of the famed sophomore jinx or an isolated case? Rick Matsumoto examines the question.
