Original Toronto Star caption: Welcomed into retirement as leader of the New Democratic Party, party leader Tommy Douglas (left) is given a handshake last night by 82-year-old M. J. Coldwell, former leader of NDP's forerunner, the CCF, who won his first seat in Parliament the year Douglas did, in 1935. Standing at centre with the two men in Mrs. Douglas. Convention delegates gave the retiring leader five-minute standing ovation. Tomorrow, delegates will ballot for new party leader.
