Illustrations originally engraved after William Mulready. Issued in tan wrapper with facsimiles of 1807 t.p. and publisher's advertisements on outer covers and advertisements of Griffith & Farran on inner covers. One of a set of four reprints of children's books first issued by J. Harris in 1807 (The butterfly's ball, The peacock ''at home'', The lion's masquerade, and The elephant's ball), each with the same introduction by Charles Welsh. Reprint.
