Original Toronto Star caption: On the move to montreal soldiers of the Van Doos regiment quick-march to a line of helicopters waiting to airlift them to guard duty in the Montreal area; in this photo taken from a distance of a quarter of a mile away. An estimated 2;80 were put on guard duties in Montreal and pressed police in the wake of terrorist kidnappings and further threats of violence. The troops; moved in at the request of Premier Robert Bourassa; were under the command of provincial police director Maurice St. Pierre.
