Original Toronto Star caption: Detective Bert Novis grasps the wrist of a wounded man flushed out of a Howland Ave. house by teargas last night. Other police; some in plain clothes; surround them as the man is put on a stretcher held by an ambulance attendant. The man held a neighbor at gunpoint for an hour and then stood off 25 heavily armed police for another hour. When he raised his gun at a policeman; hea was hit with a shield.
