Original Toronto Star caption: Hostage Warren Mitchell leaves his car yesterday as a policeman trains his rifle on parolee Francis Joseph Savoy; killed seconds later by a bullet in the head fired by a policeman not in the picture. Savoy had shot a cab driver in a $20 hold-up on Midland Ave.; and then; after shooting at police three times; knocked on doors in area until he got into Mitchell's home at gunpoint and forced him into his car. As Mitchell backed out; a cruiser blocked the car's way.
