Original Toronto Star caption: Hats Held High, Royal Canadian Mounted Police cheer their honorary commissioner, the Queen, during RCMP centennial services yesterday in Regina. Earlier, Chief David Ahanakew, speaking for 38,000 Indians in Saskatchewan, had presented a petition to the Queen telling of the betrayal of treaties, leaving Indians in isolation and poverty and threatening their existence as a race. Ahanaskew, a Korean war veteran, heads a federation of chiefs of 67 Saskatchewan Indian bands.
