Original Toronto Star caption: Half the population of Nova Scotia must have turned out to see Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip yesterday during the first day of their tour of Eastern Canada; and the Union Jacks were waved by the thousands. The Queen obviously was delighted with the reception. Nova Scotia calls itself the Royal Province. The British link is very strong around here; said one old Royal Canadian Legion veteran. One teenager; asked whether he thought of Elizabeth as the Queen of England or the Queen of Canada; replied: She is the Queen of Nova Scotia. Today; the royal couple are visiting Dartmouth; Greenwood; Kentville; Wolferville and Windsor. They will visit New Brunswick tomorrow and Friday; then to Montreal.
