Original Toronto Star caption: Canada's sailor king cruised aboard President Roosevelt's yacht yesterday with the royal standard of Britain flying at her foremast. President Roosevelt managed to arrive at the yacht ahead of his guests only because the capitol reception lasted longer than expected; but he was waiting on the canopied after-deck when a limousine swung into Washington's spic and span navy yard and Rear-Admiral G. T. Pettengill; yard commandant; greeted the Queen as she stepped from the car. A 21-gun salute had heralded the president's arrival; and again the guns crashed out as the royal party drove in. Then as the U.S. navy band played the Potomac cast off for Mt. Vernon.
