Original Toronto Star caption: Rabbi Gunther Plaut of Holy Blossom Temple (left) and former mayor Philip Givens attend meeting of the Emergency Committee for Israel's Survival at the Park Plaza. The rabbi urged Canadians to assure the beleaguered people of Israel of their sympathy and support. Mr. Givens emphasized that the committee is interested in financial aid, not with recruiting for the Israeli forces. Those wishing to volunteer in any capacity are referred to Zionist headquarters, he said.
