Original Toronto Star caption: This was Halliburton and his junk: Possibility that the skeleton of a mystery boat which was washed up at suburban Pacific Beach by heavy seas of Feb. 2 may be the wreckage of Richard Halliburton's Chinese Junk was expressed yesterday by K. M. Walker, marine surveyor. Halliburton and his 14 crewmen presumably perished March 24, 1939, while en route from Hong Kong to San Francisco.
