Yesterday Ford unveiled its 1979 model line-up and said it intends to launcy a long-term campaign to oust rival General Motors from the top spot on the auto sales chart. Hawkins predicted that industry-wide sales of cars would increase 2 percent during the 1979 model year from 1,003,000 in 1978 and truck sales would rise 2.5 per cent.
