Original Toronto Star caption: As a reward for the return of his dog, Spot, top jockey Sandy Hawley visited Park Royal Public School in Mississauga yesterday and Grade 2 youngsters swarmed around him. Principal, William Hamilton, found Spot in a field and refused the $200 reward Hawley had offered; he asked, instead, that Hawley talk about racing and horses with pupils. Questions asked included how many races he's won (2,500), how many he's lost (12,500) and how much a horse weighs.
