Original Toronto Star caption: A. Y. Jackson (above), member of the Group of Seven, will be 86 in two weeks. He has surprised and delighted his doctors by continuing to paint (left), the subject being a scarlet-and-gold maple tree like his famous 1914 painting. Jackson's now living in gallery-home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McMichael at Kleinburg, and yesterday opened gallery of his work there with former premier Leslie Frost and Mrs. Frost (bottom left). The painter likes to sit in 100-year-old Quebec rocker on porch and gaze at trees.
