Original Toronto Star caption: Signs are costly--so he makes his own, North York Alderman Robert Yuill, seeking a seat on board of control this time, says he can't afford to buy 300 professionally made lawn signs. At $20 each they'd come to $6,000. So he's making his own silk-screened signs with help of his family. Here daughter Debbie, 17, assists with a squeegee on his 40th sign. Other helpers are Yuill's wife Dorothy and sons Glen, 20, Don, 14. With Metro's municipal elections scheduled for Dec. 6, some candidates already have signs up.
