Lawn bowlers hold a tournament

More than 60 lawn bowlers from Streetsville, Port Credit, Milton, Oakville and Etobicoke play in the idyllic, tree-rimmed Port Credit Club on Highway 10. The clubs play monthly tournaments but the weather has made them chancy recently, so they took advantage of yesterday's sunshine to enjoy their sport and a luncheon. The bowlers, all dressed in white, drew many spectators. Tradition says Sir Francis Drake finished his game of bowls before fighting the Armada.
