Original Toronto Star caption: I'll get you: That's what Hasely Crawford (391) of Trinidad Tobago indicated to Jamaica's Don Quarrie as the sprinters hit the tape in the 100-metre semi-final, which Quarrie (243) won. The two men had been shouting at each other during the Commonwealth Games race, over Ghana's Ernest Obeng, who was straining to keep up. Quarrie won the final over his arch-rival Crawford, who had defeated the Jamaican at 100 metres in the Montreal Olympics. Quarrie already is looking ahead to the 1980 Olympics, by which time he'll be 30 years old.
