Original Toronto Star caption: Safe at home: George Brett slides under the tag of Ernie Whitt in the top of the third inning last night to give the Kansas City Royals a 5-1 lead. Royals' slugger Steve Balboni got the RBI. In the fifth, Brett hit a two-run homer off reliever John Cerutti to pad the Royals' lead to 8-2. Lloyd Moseby, with two, George Bell and Rick Leach homered for the Jays but it wasn't enough as they fell, 8-6. Jays have now lost four of five since returning home.
