Original Toronto Star caption: Ken Thompson is going to South Carolina to play golf and get an education, all thanks to a friend. The 20-year-old from Scarborough heads to Anderson College next month on a partial golfing scholarship, acquired through the suggestion of golfing friend Dave Jukes, who was there on a scholarship last year. Dave mentioned my name and that's how they got in touch with me. It was a forutnate set of circumstances, Thompson says.
