Original Toronto Star caption: An old ritual survives at black creek. Rogationtide, the spring week during which the Christian Church for centuries prayed for a fruitful harvest, was celebrated yesterday at Black Creek Pioneer Village as it was in some rural settlements of early Ontario. Lt.-Gov. Pauline McGibbon, like all the 400 present, filled a small bag with seeds from the pot held by Evelyn Hazzard. Priest and congregation walked around the parish beating the bounds.
