Jockey Hugo Dittfach wades between slabs of 75-foot square birthday cake at Woodbine race track yesterday to taste 1,400-pound cake served to racing fans to honor 100th birthday of Col. R. S. Sam McLaughlin, Canadian automotive pioneer closely associated with thoroughbred racing for years. The cake contained 350 pounds of sugar, 3,600 eggs, 100 pounds of butter, and took 80 hours to bake.
