Original Toronto Star caption: Heir to Mercer Millions still unfound. Descendants of Andrew Mercer, of Currie, Edinburgh, Scotland, are still baffled over the identity of the rightful heir to the $10,000,000 estate left by the millionaire. Claimants to the fortune have been found all over the country and the mystery has been made still more perplexing by the removal of part of the inscription from the tombstone of the late Andrew Mercer in St. James' Cemetery. In (1) is the Mercer cottage in Currie, where Andrew Mercer was born in 1778. (2) shows Alexander Mercer, of Currie, who claims to be one of the descendants and (3) the church at Currie where Andrew Mercer and Margaret Reid were married in Nov. 1758.
