A dream come true for former Scarborough insurance man Frederick Carlisle is his three-hulled Caravel II. He bought it 5 years ago for $25,000 and has cruised more than 20,000 miles with his daughters Nora, 11 (left) and Mary, 13, (right) and his wife. During the five-year getaway on the world's oceans the girls managed to pick up six years' credits on their correspondence courses. The Carlisles are thinking of crossing the Atlantic Ocean a second time next year.

Behind counter of his flagship Diana Sweets stores, company president George Boukydis ponders the future of his $6 million a year enterprise. Stores stopped selling candy some years ago when firm's key candy maker retired after 45 years of service. An adequate replacement was not found and now, says Boukydis, it's getting tough to find pastry cooks. The supermarkets are stealing what few there are left.
