Original Toronto Star caption: Surprise party for Beth Nealson. Old and new political and personal friends held a surprise retirement party for Beth Nealson, the former mayor of Leaside and latterly, information officer at City Hall. In municipal politics since 1952, Mrs. Nealson compiled and edited the former town's first municipal handbook. At the weekend party, she is kissed by Toronto Alderman Tony O'Donohue (left) and Bill Mallatratt, general manager of the CNE.
