Original Toronto Star caption: In centre stage the two giants met--one slim, dark, intense and fresh from the triumph of a previous night's Swan Lake, --the other blond, stocky and controlled, dripping with exhaustion from a day's gruelling CBC rehearsal of his own version of the same ballet. It was pure coincidence that their paths should have crossed this week in Toronto, that Rudolf Nureyev and Erik Bruhn--the two mammoths of the male ballet world--should be dancing Swan Lake here simultaneously, the Russian before a packed and applauding O'Keefe centre audience, the Dane on a nearly empty CBC rehearsal set.
