Original Toronto Star caption: A day of mourning has been called for the death of Elliot Lake, ''uranium capital of the world.'' This sign, being erected at the entrance to the northern town, warns one and all of the fate of this once flourishing uranium centre. Efforts by Liberal leader John Wintermeyer in the Ontario house to have the provincial government ask Ottawa to give immediate assistance were turned down by Premier Frost. The ''mourning'' period will see stores closed for one day and black armbands worn.
