Attributed to Goodrich by the Bodleian Library and NUC pre-1956 imprints. Goodrich's ''Advertisement'' dated from London, Aug., 1842 and a list of books in the series are on p. [2]-[3] p. at end of text. The added series t.p., designed by F.B., is printed in colour by C. Graf. The hand-coloured frontispiece and pictorial added t.p., which bears the date 1845, are engraved by H. Griffiths after S. Williams. The original American edition was published under the title: The truthfinder, or, The story of inquisitive Jack.
