The publishers erroneously ascribed the book to Mrs. Traill's sister, Susanna Strickland, afterwards Moodie. Little Downy is attributed to Catharine Parr Strickland by Sara Eaton in Lady of the backwoods and by Michael Peterman in the Oxford Companion to Canadian Literature. Undated.
